Cottage Grove has activities, facilities and destinations that offer something for everyone, whether you want to relax at a ball game or get active out on a trail.

Here are five ways we love to get outdoors and enjoy fun in the sun:

This wonderful 52-mile stretch of trail runs between Wisconsin’s two largest urban areas, through farmlands and glacial topography, from Cottage Grove to Waukesha. Whether you want to hike, bike, bird or picnic, a visit to the Glacial Drumlin Trail should be at the top of the list when visiting Cottage Grove.

2. Enjoy all that Cottage Grove Parks, Recreation & Forestry has to offer. Whether it’s the splash pad at Bakken Park, taking a ride at the skate park, or a friendly pickleball challenge at Community or Bakken Park, Cottage Grove park facilities offer fun for all ages and activity levels, from sports enthusiast to spectator.

3. Enjoy patio or farm time. From Outpost Bar & Grill to 1855, from Warm Belly Farm to Olde Town Coffeehouse, whether you’re looking for caffeine or cocktails or fresh produce – you’ll find it in Cottage Grove.

4. Tee up a great game of golf. Cottage Grove boasts two 18-hole public golf courses, The Oaks and Door Creek. In addition to beautiful, family-friendly courses, both offer private room rental facilities and full bar & restaurant offerings.

5. Take yourself out to the ball game. There’s no shortage of sports action in Cottage Grove. Check out what’s on the schedule at the Madison United Rugby, witness joy on the faces of participants and volunteers alike at Miracle League of Dane County, or take in a baseball game at Fireman’s Park, the home field of Cottage Grove Fireman’s Home Talent Baseball League.
